During the summer holiday period, and during Half Term week in 2024 we have been busy decorating and refurbishing areas in the MAIN HALL, ENTRANCEWAY and BACK ROOM areas of the ground floor. The works were carried out by the maintenance and cleaning team and were long overdue.
The MAIN HALL was cleared as much as possible, then repairs and preparation work began on walls, damaged woodwork, and other areas which needed fixing before painting could even be started. The entrance lobby way, doors, and back room needed attention too, and the walls skirtings and door frames were all painted.
During Half Term week, we carried out further works, including touching up paint on walls, doors, rails, and skirtings. The wooden floor of the MAIN HALL was sealed with two coats of Professional Non-Slip Floor Polish, and all the windows were cleaned in preparation for the 100 year celebration event.

Bookings SecretaryThe decorating and maintenance works undertaken over the last few months, have once again brightened up the look and feel of the building. What we would ask however, is that hirers do take care and be a little more diligent and thoughtful when moving items around the building. If it cannot be lifted, then please don't simply drag it across the wooden floor. Chairs and tables do not need to be bashed against the walls and woodwork. Just think: if this was your home how would you like it to be treated?
